1. Who we are
StayNear Canada operates a platform that arranges platonic social phone companionship between families and independent contractor companions.

2. What we collect (examples)
- Family and companion contact details (name, email, phone, province)
- Scheduling preferences and service options
- Information you share about a senior for matching and companion awareness (including optional health-context notes that are social, not clinical records)
- Application, vetting, and language-voice materials for companions
- Optional Stories to keep content when you opt in
- Technical logs needed to run the website and services

3. Why we collect it
To operate waitlists and estimates, match companions, schedule calls, deliver notes or keepsakes you request, meet safeguarding processes, and send CASL-consented or operational messages.

4. Consent and CASL
Commercial email requires consent consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You may withdraw marketing consent. We may still send necessary service messages.

5. Sharing
We share information with companions only as needed to deliver calls, and with vendors (for example phone, payments, screening) under contracts. We do not sell personal information.

6. Retention and security
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to an early-stage product; production systems must meet counsel and security review.

7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (PIPEDA and provincial laws), you may request access to or correction of your personal information. Contact privacy@staynear.example (demo placeholder).
